10/16/2026 10:36:00 AM

The Green Knights football team is back this Saturday for its seventh game of the season. On Saturday, the team heads to West Orange, NJ where they face Seton Hall Prep.

Through two thirds of the season, SJR is currently 3-3 and has turned the corner heading into the game. During certain points earlier this season, the SJR fanbase has seen some uncertain times, but those days are gone. After defeating Saint Peter's Prep last week 38-30 in a convincing battle, the Green Knights community is looking forward to the last three games to end the regular season.

"Everything we want is right in front of us," said Head Coach Augie Hoffmann.

"We have to keep our focus throughout the entire game and capitalize on our opportunities and finish."

The SJR football team has proven to be a talented one, showcasing many players who show to be true competitors. Leading the offense is freshman quarterback William Mitchell. Mitchell has shown to be a big-time talent, who can lead the Green Knights to victory. Through his first three starts, Mitchell has thrown for 564 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is also a big asset for the ground game recording 204 yards on the ground. Junior running back Andrew Wilson has led the team on the ground so far racking up 350 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns.

The SJR receiver room is led by Co-Captain Stalin Knowlden '27. Knowlden is SJR's go-to option for the passing game this year. He has racked up 372 yards and has caught 7 touchdown passes and has also proven to be a big asset kick returning. During 6 kickoff returns, he has totaled 199 yards and went all the way for a touchdown in the season opener. The rest of the wide receiver room has truly stepped up and shown up for the team. Last Saturday, three other receivers scored touchdowns. Senior Gavin O'Leary, and Juniors David Forster, and Quinn Dunleavy all found the end zone. These were also O'Leary and Dunleavy's first touchdowns at SJR.

SJR also has a very talented defense. The 2026 SJR defense is very well-rounded. The Defensive line is home to Senior Co-Captains Cam Aime and Chaz Gray. Behind them, the linebackers are Co-Captains Tahj Gray and Ryan Barry. Protecting the passing game are Senior Co-Captain Jonathan Galette, and freshman Brice Johnson. The Talented Green Knights defense has produced some big numbers. Through six games, the defense has recorded 363 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and 5 interceptions.

The Star of the show for the talented SJR defense is Junior Co-Captain Tahj Gray. Since his freshman season in 2024, Gray has proven to be the best of the best. He is the top-ranked linebacker in the class of 2028, and has received a 5-star rating. Through six games, Gray has recorded 47 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Saturday, the Green Knights take on a 2-4 Seton Hall Prep team. The Pirates are led by Head coach Bill Fitzgerald. The Team last played two weeks ago in a loss to Saint Peter's Prep.

The Seton Hall Prep offense is led by Senior quarterback Jaylin Bullock, who has recorded 317 passing yards and 5 touchdown passes. Leading the running game is Sophomore running back Adonis Rabrun. He has so far recorded 386 rushing yards.

Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, In West Orange.
