Three Green Knights athletes were recently named players of their year in their respective sports by NorthJersey.com

On Friday June 26th, North Jersey Media and Varsity Aces held the annual North Jersey High School Sports awards. SJR athletes Nathan Bailey '26, Cristian Alvarez '26 and Rory Asselta '28 were all honored for their accomplishments this year.

Nathan Bailey- Football Offensive Player of the Year
At running back, wide receiver and returning kicks, he scored 13 touchdowns and had the most memorable moment of the season, scoring on a two-point play in OT to beat Bergen Catholic.

Cristian Alvarez- Boys Wrestler of the Year
The senior went 35-0, won a state title at heavyweight and was ranked sixth in the country.

Rory Asselta- Boys Golfer of the Year
Asselta is a sophomore who has delivered arguably the best first two seasons in New Jersey boys' golf history. He won North Non-Public and repeated as titlist at the TOC.
