The Green Knights came away with a hard-fought 3-3 tie against Ramapo in JV league play on Friday, December 10.
After falling behind 2-0 in the second period, sophomore
Conor Keenan got SJR on the board with a great shot to the far post. Freshman
Connor Koliopoulos had the assist.
The score remained 2-1 Raiders until under five minutes remained. Freshman Paul Giblin, who created several chances throughout the night, finally broke through with a snipe over the goaltender's shoulder to knot the score.
James Montesano picked up an assist, starting the play along the boards. Unfortunately, Ramapo answered quickly, capitalizing on the a 3-on-2 just over a minute later.
Faced with a deficit and less than two minutes to play, the Green Knights continued to apply pressure and freshman
Andrew Chiarello finished the job, scoring on assists from
David Wolleben and Giblin.
Freshman
Liam Moloney managed 17 saves between the pipes.
The Green Knights are back in action on Monday with a road trip to Warinaco Park in Roselle to face Westfield at 4:45 p.m.
