The Green Knights football team was back at Dinallo Stadium over the weekend.
On Saturday, the team showcased the work they've been putting in over the last few weeks at training camp to the SJR community in SJR's annual Green and Gold game.
This year's squad features many veterans as well as new faces who were all on display in the inter-squad game. Returning veterans include Chaz Gray '27, Tahj Gray '28, David Forster '28 and Jonathan Galette '27 while newcomers Ralph Tristani '28, Brice Johnson '30, and William Mitchell '30 all got their first taste of action at Karcich Field.
Saturday's Green and Gold game was filled with intensity and focus. The big highlight from the game was a near 70 yard rushing touchdown from Junior running back Andrew Wilson Jr. The Green Team was victorious 21-7 over the Gold Team in front of a near capacity crowd that included parents, SJR staff, Alumni, Students, and community members.
The Green Knights will now shift their focus to prepare for a nationally televised season opener in two weeks. The reigning NJSIAA Non-Public A State Champions hope to repeat what they did last season, ultimately making it to Metlife Stadium, and taking home the title again in 2026.
Prior to the season opener, SJR will take on in a scrimmage game before the season opener 7:00 PM Friday, August 28th at Mt. Carmel (IL).
