David Lehanski ‘92 was inducted into the SJR Hall of Fame as an Outstanding Alumnus in 2017. While Lehanski was inducted in part because of his merits as a student, alumnus and benefactor, his athletic accomplishments as a Green Knight earned him a spot in the Athletic Hall of Fame as well.

While at SJR, Lehanski was the Saint Joseph Medal recipient and class president, while his goaltending backstopped the hockey team to a state championship in 1991. Along the way, he was The Record's "Scholar of the Week" and "Athlete of the Week,” one of only two Green Knights to earn both honors.

Lehanski left SJR as a two-time Gordon Cup champion and a state champion.

In fact, he guided the Green Knights to back-to-back state final appearances and was the wall behind the Green Knights’ state championship season in 1991, posting seven shutouts and a goals-against average of 1.87.
