The Saint Joseph Regional varsity soccer team took on the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen on Tuesday in a rivalry game at Robert Joseph Dinallo Stadium. Your Green Knights looked to bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Northern Valley-Demerest over the weekend.
The Ironmen scored a quick goal early in the first half added another goal late in the first leaving a score of 2-0 after the first 40 minutes of play. The Green Knights had multiple scoring opportunities with Connor Macdonald '22 and Lucas Saliani '24 both coming up just short on capitalizing.
The second half was much more tightly contested as the Green Knights back line was able to slow the fast paced Ironmen offense. Unfortunately Saint Joes was unable to find the back of the net and the match ended 2-0 with Don Bosco taking home the win. The Green Knights immediately turn around and face Teaneck High School on October 6 in the first round of the Bergen County Cup. This is a game Coach Christien Vlahinich '07 says is a must win as his boys look to turn their season around.
