The Green Knights kept their winning streak alive by defeating Bergen Catholic 8-6 in dramatic fashion.

Roger Stanley Moreno '23 got the start on the mound and the sophomore recorded four strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched. After Moreno loaded the bases in the fifth, Ryan Myles '21 came into relieve. However, due three defensive errors by the SJR infield, Bergen took a 6-3 lead after all was said and done.

The Green Knights began to chip away starting with a Nick Martinez '23 home run in the bottom half of the fifth to make the score 6-4. Myles kept Bergen in check in the sixth and that was all the SJR offense needed.

After an Ellis Garcia '21 single, Sean Hard '21 laced a double in to the left-center gap to cut the Bergen lead to 6-5. Albert Serrano '21 followed with another double and Martinez stepped up again. The sophomore ripped a double down the third base line, scoring Hard and Serrano. Myles Nova '21 pinch ran for Martinez. Nova scored all the way from second on infield single by Derek Benzinger '21.

With an 8-6 lead, that was all Myles needed to lock down the huge rivalry win and to keep the undefeated season alive.
