Rory Asselta capped off his sophomore season by running away with the Bergen County title.

Asselta repeated as the Dan Luciano BCCCA Individual champion following a spectacular round of 66 on Thursday at Haworth CC. The sophomore began the final round with a 1 stroke lead but pulled away on the back nine after a stretch 2 birdies followeb by back to back eagles. A 4-hole stretch at 6 under par. Asselta closed out his round with a birdie on the 18th, shooting 30 on the back nine to win the 36-hole event by 7 shots.

The win marks the 4th individual championship for Asselta this season and the 11th of his two year SJR career.

Fellow sophomore Justin Peck completed an impressive performance at the Counties shooting a final round 71 to finish in solo 3rd. Senior Michael Asselta finished 9th while junior CJ Antifonario ended up 15th.

In all, SJR players won 7 individual tournaments this season repeating as League, County, Sectional and State Champions as a team.
