The SJR golf team made it back to back county titles on Thursday.

The #1 ranked Green Knights won the Odell Nassar Bergen Country Team title on at Soldier Hill Golf Course as they successfully defended their championship from a year ago.

On a cool breezy day in Emerson, sophomore Rory Asselta led the way for SJR with a 1-over par 73. Asselta is the defending Bergen County individual champion and will now defend that title at next Thursday's Luciano County tournament. He'll begin round 2 with a 1 stroke lead. Fellow sophomore Justin Peck shot a 75 while junior CJ Antifonario shot a 77. In all, four Green Knights qualified for round 2 of the Individual tournament with senior Michael Asselta, joining Antifonario, Peck and Rory Asselta.

The team victory marks the 6th tournament title for the 2026 Green Knights.

SJR will look to defend it's state title on Monday, at the NJSIAA State Tournament of Champions at Raritan Valley CC.
