As year three quickly approaches for Coach Konrad Madej and the SJR Soccer Team the program is looking to finally make a name for itself in the 2026 season.

The Green Knights have been putting in countless hours of hard work this summer trying to build on the progress they have made the last two seasons. After being named Big North Coach of the Year Coach Madej is ready for any challenge this season. 

The returning players are looking to leave their mark on the soccer program. The roster is stacked with seniors such as Max Del Toro, Jacob Hook, John Vasquez, Angelo Paino, Ryan Coleman, George Sitounis, and David Perez. Coach Madej has also brought in new players to bring the program to the next level.

This year's captain is senior Ryan Coleman, who has high expectations about this upcoming season.
"The thing I'm looking forward to the most this season is spending time with the guys whether it's on the field or off the field." said Coleman

"This is truly a special group of people we have here and I think we can do something that hasn't been done in a long time this year. The goal is to compete for a championship this year so hopefully we can put on a show and bring it home, whether it's counties or states."

In the beginning of August the boys spent a week of camp at Ramapo college. The team worked very hard with two sessions per day plus two games during the week. They competed in a preseason tournament at Ramapo and went undefeated. This boosted the team's chemistry and got them into that winning mindset.  

Now it's time for the 2026 season to begin. The team will open up with their first game of the season, Monday August 24th,  away vs Paramus High School at 6:30 pm. Later that week they will play Garfield High school on the 26th and Wood-Ridge High school on the 28th.

A very exciting 2026 season is in the future for the SJR Soccer team.
